Wise IT team helped the MULTIPLEX company transfer its mail services to the Google Cloud, as well as improve the efficiency of corporate communications with the help of the Google Workspace solution.
The MULTIPLEX company is an all-Ukrainian network of multiplex cinemas, founded in 2003. In 2009, MULTIPLEX took a leading position in the cinema market of Ukraine. The company is the largest network in Ukraine in terms of regional coverage and the number of visitors per year. To date, the MULTIPLEX network includes 24 cinemas or 128 screens in 16 of the largest cities of Ukraine. Every day, 750 screenings are broadcast in MULTIPLEX cinemas, and the halls receive 25,000 moviegoers every day. The company has more than 1,000 employees in 16 cities of Ukraine. Therefore, the issue of uninterrupted corporate communications between employees from different cities became quite acute for the company. The IT department was also tasked with ensuring the ability to store and exchange large amounts of information between offices, including video content and elements for the advertising production of the cinema network.
E-mail is the most important communication tool between employees. Before migrating to Google Workspace, MULTIPLEX used the Yandex mail service. The need to replace the postal system was ripe in connection with the end of commercial activity of Yandex in Ukraine, as well as in connection with the lack of data warehouses and the lack of the possibility of effective communication between regional offices.
In order to choose a replacement for the old system, IT specialists of MULTIPLEX conducted market research. Various postal and communication solutions, primarily cloud ones, were considered. The Google Workspace solution was recognized as the most suitable for the company, which fully meets the requirements in terms of service functionality and fault tolerance.
Most employees work primarily with corporate mail. The most important improvements in this field of communications have been the large size of mailboxes and mobile access. The company’s employees also found Google Workspace functionality in demand, such as general calendars and to-do lists available to all participants online, in mobile mode.
With the advent of such a tool as Google Meet (a video and conference service), a new format of communication appeared in geographically distributed units. Employees often use Google Meet from mobile devices, usually for operational meetings when it is necessary to quickly receive advice or comments from a specialist or executor. Also, with the help of the Google service, the company’s employees can exchange large amounts of information and large-scale files.
