Hybrid cloud for Policombank

Policombank is a multipurpose bank that serves business and private customers and pays great attention to the development of its IT services and online applications.
REQUEST:
With the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Policombank faced the task of building a backup infrastructure and transferring critical services to Google Cloud. The client could not ensure the availability of its local infrastructure due to problems with communication channels and power outages.
RESULT:
The client was able to build a hybrid solution to build a backup site in collaboration with On-Prem and Google Cloud Platform. The solutions provided by the Google cloud platform made it possible to protect the bank’s critical data during the war.
Business challenge
In this project, Wise IT collaborated with Policombank to conduct a technical analysis of new and existing workloads and conducted a series of architecture design workshops to determine the migration path to Google Cloud.
Solution
A backup site has been created on the Google Cloud Platform with a number of critical services, including databases, and their replication is ensured in automatic mode. A secure connection to the bank’s main data center was built, and Compute Engine, Networking services were configured, and cold backup of critical data was organized using Cloud Storage. Confidence in these tools is reinforced by the fact that all Google services have an SLA (Service-level agreement) – an agreement on the level of service, which is strictly followed.
