AI that works at your pace

Recently, the Google team shared their vision for the next steps in implementing artificial intelligence into the workspace, highlighting new ways AI can help people in their daily work. Business users are already seeing the impact of AI in Google Workspace, as Gemini in Workspace performs 2 billion tasks every month. The latest platform updates cover the tools you use every day, helping you respond to emails faster, communicate in different languages, tell stories with video, and work with sources.

Save time with Gemini in Gmail

Responding to emails often means referencing details hidden in other files or rereading long discussion threads just to gather context. Personalized smart replies in Gmail will help you create emails that match your specific context and tone. Using data from your previous emails and Google Drive, Gemini provides reply suggestions with specific details based on your email history, saving you the trouble of sifting through your inbox and files yourself. Most importantly, it also adapts to your typical tone—whether clear and formal or warm and conversational—so your replies sound authentic. (Broad availability later this year.)

Meanwhile, emails continue to pile up, making it difficult to organize and control your inbox. With the introduction of the inbox cleanup feature, Gemini gains the ability to delete or archive emails at your request. Just tell Gemini what you want to do (for example, “Delete all my unread emails from The Groomed Paw from last year”), and watch it help you manage your inbox. (Broad availability next quarter.)

Another email challenge is the tedious back-and-forth that occurs when trying to schedule a meeting or appointment with someone outside your organization. Without access to their calendars, it can take multiple rounds of emails to settle on a suitable time. Now, thanks to quick meeting scheduling integrated into Gmail, you can easily offer clients times to book without ever leaving your inbox. Gemini in Gmail detects when you’re trying to arrange a meeting and offers a helpful prompt, making it easy to share your booking page directly in Gmail, significantly reducing the time and effort spent coordinating schedules. Communicate naturally — regardless of borders and languages

Language differences are a fundamental barrier to communicating with others—whether you’re working across different regions or simply connecting with distant relatives abroad. That’s why Google is introducing speech translation in Google Meet, which will initially be available to consumers.

This new feature translates your words into the listener’s preferred language with low latency, preserving your voice and tone. The result is a conversation that feels authentic and natural, even across languages—whether it’s English-speaking grandchildren easily chatting with their Spanish-speaking grandparents, or colleagues from around the world communicating across continents.

Starting today, speech translation in Google Meet will begin rolling out to Google AI Pro and Ultra plan subscribers in beta, initially in English and Spanish only, with more languages coming in the next few weeks. Early testing for Workspace customers will also begin this year.

Turn video into a practical tool for work — regardless of your skills or budget

Video continues to be one of the most effective ways to train teams, onboard new employees, and explain ideas. But most people don’t have the time, editing skills, or budget to do it. Last year, Google launched Google Vids to make visual storytelling more accessible.

With Vids, you can transform existing Google Slides presentations into engaging videos. Imagine turning an existing sales presentation or quarterly business review into dynamic, shareable videos that successfully capture your audience’s attention. Gemini can help create scripts, voiceovers, animations, and more. (Broad availability next quarter)

And for those moments when you’re recording and notice a bunch of distracting “ums” and “uhs,” automatic transcript trimming can help. Gemini generates a transcript of your recording, and then with one click, identifies and removes filler words and awkward pauses. If your video’s audio quality is uneven, you’re also just one click away from adjusting audio levels throughout the video with the audio balancing feature. No complex audio mixing required! (The audio balancing feature will be available next month, and the transcript trimming feature will be in the Google Workspace Labs early access program next quarter.)

What if there’s simply no time or budget for a speaker for your video, but you want to ensure a high-quality and consistent way to deliver your message? Maybe you’re creating a dozen support or training videos and need a reliable way to present information clearly and professionally. With AI avatars in Vids, you can avoid the hassle of coordinating talent and video production. Just write a script and choose an avatar to deliver your message. It’s a fast and effective way to create polished content—for onboarding presentations, announcements, product explanations, and more—without cameras and the associated filming headaches. (Coming to Google Workspace Labs next month.)

With powerful built-in AI tools, Vids makes it easy to create and share video stories. Starting today, Google is offering Vids, including all new features, to anyone with a Google AI Pro or Ultra plan.

Create richer and more detailed visuals with Imagen 4

To further enhance visual storytelling, when creating an image in Slides, Videos, Docs, etc., you will now have access to the latest Imagen 4 model. This means you’ll be able to easily create richer, more detailed visuals with more accurate spelling and text rendering, whether you’re designing product mockups, creating visually stunning graphics for your brand campaign, or developing infographics for your quarterly presentation. (Generally available starting today.)

With Imagen 4 in Workspace, generated images improve spelling and text rendering for product mockups, marketing materials, and more.

Write confidently with the right information at your fingertips

Writing text requires focus, but the necessary sources are often scattered across different folders and documents. That’s why Google is introducing source-based writing assistance in Google Docs. Now you can directly link any relevant data to a Google Doc, and Gemini will use only those sources when providing writing assistance, keeping suggestions focused and based on verified content. So, whether you’re working on a project status update, a research summary, or a business plan, you’re writing with exactly the context you need—no guesswork, no tab switching. AI that fits your work style

These updates are not standalone features — they are part of a broader vision of AI that fits into everyday workflows, helps you take action, and gives you more time for the work that moves things forward.
