On October 26, the CLOUD_Tech event took place, marking a significant milestone in this year’s Wise IT activities! We were very happy to gather representatives of the government and IT leaders from leading Ukrainian companies in one place to discuss the unique experience of digital transformation. Our colleagues from Google provided their expertise and support to make this possible.
Roman’s presentation was dedicated to the trends in the Ukrainian IT infrastructure market and the long-term benefits of cloud migration.

“Historically, due to excessive regulation of legislation, large businesses in Ukraine were the first to start active transformation and migration to the cloud, while most public sector enterprises remained on-prem. A full-scale invasion instantly changed circumstances and forced everyone to act quickly.”
The government responded to the threat to the physical infrastructure with NBU resolutions No. 42 dated 03/08/2022 and the Cabinet of Ministers No. 263, granting permission for the use of cloud technologies and the placement of data of Ukrainian state institutions and banks in data centers outside of Ukraine. This decision is valid for the period of wartime and another six months (for government agencies) or 2 years (for banks) after its termination or cancellation, and enables all government organizations to ensure stable uninterrupted work, to preserve critical data. In fact, this paves the way for the implementation of the most modern technologies and implementation of digital transformation.
Also, cloud services from world leaders, such as Google, have already been implemented in the EU and the USA and comply with algorithms and protocols defined by legislation, which is very relevant in the context of European integration.
Boris Georgiev, director of Google Cloud in Central and Eastern Europe, spoke about the new support programs. It is no secret that the Californian tech giant is one of the world leaders in supporting Ukraine. Unlike many other companies that withdrew their assistance just a year after the start of the full-scale invasion, Google is currently organizing programs aimed at educating children and adults, securing government institutions, and supporting Ukrainian businesses. Among the key initiatives are:

After the direct inclusion of Boris Georgiev, the floor was handed over to Vlad Patenko, the official representative of Google Cloud. Since 2016, Google has chosen the AI-first path, based on the development of the implementation of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Since then, the company has annually announced unique AI/ML solutions based on the Large Language Model.

During the talk, we dived into the world of Google’s AI technologies, from help with writing code and data analytics, to an AI assistant and automatic creation of reports from provided files. The ability to use complex Google technologies, such as automatic document recognition, without advanced programming knowledge is a unique proposition on the market.
Only in practice you can learn all the intricacies of implementing innovations. But you can be helped by those who are already in this direction and can share knowledge that will save you time and your resources. That’s why two big conversations took place at CLOUD_Tech! Panel discussions were attended by:
Oleksandr Kozub, the head of Wise IT’s cloud solutions department, acted as moderator, and the discussion was fueled by Google experts: Vlad Patenko (Custom Engineering Manager at Google Cloud) and Anna Doroshenko (Enterprise Account Executive).
The first panel discussion was devoted to the use of cloud services during the war, as well as how to migrate easily and without interruptions in business processes. Representatives of the companies Nova Digital, Tranzzo, ANC told their history of using the cloud and their view of artificial intelligence solutions available on the market.

At the second panel discussion, representatives of Nova Digital, Varus and Cosmolot shared the experience of implementing the Google Workspace ecosystem into the work processes of employees, as well as the first insights into the use of the Duet AI intelligent assistant.

In cinema and in the technological world, the same rule prevails: “show, not tell.” Adhering to this maxim, Wise IT cloud team prepared 4 demo zones, where each conference participant could familiarize himself with generative AI from Google, the capabilities of the Google Cloud console, the corporate ecosystem of Chrome OS, and the artificial intelligence of Google Workspace!

It was an incredibly intense meeting! We thank the Google team who made this event possible:
Boris Georgiev – for an inspiring speech at CLOUD_Tech
Marius Danescu – for comprehensive support in the certification process of the Wise IT team, as well as for help with our event.
Anna Doroshenko, Vlad Patenko, Serhiy Hrynchevsky – for impressive insights and answers to the questions of CLOUD_Tech guests.
Many thanks to the representatives of Ukrainian companies Oleg Poligenko, Andrii Danylik, Margarita Ochigava, Andrii Honcharenko, Serhii Plakhtyra, Tymur Sydoruk for their initiative in panel discussions and useful advice on successful IT transformation! And also to our Cloud team for preparing the demo areas and actively participating in the event!
And we sincerely thank everyone who visited CLOUD_Tech! We will definitely be back with new offline and online events soon. Be Wise and stay with us!
