Successful experience and practical application of Google’s innovative solutions for global and Ukrainian companies

The scope of application of artificial intelligence is rapidly expanding, and the pace of this expansion is constantly accelerating. Every day, new projects appear that open up new horizons for the use of Generative AI. The next block of speeches, prepared by the international Google team, was dedicated to successful cases that creatively use Google Cloud innovations. The speech was attended by:

Alin Bittel, Head of Sales, CEE Public Sector at Google Cloud, presented promising technologies that can significantly improve the work of government organizations. He also shared successful examples of implementing these solutions in different countries. Among the most interesting Google Cloud use cases:

  • Geospatial solutions for creating complex environmental models;
  • Automatic document verification to detect possible fraud;
  • Document AI for intelligent digitization and systematization of paper documentation;
  • Contact centers with artificial intelligence that increase the efficiency of citizen service.

These solutions open up new opportunities for the public sector, contributing to its modernization and increasing transparency.

Anna Doroshenko, Enterprise Account Executive at Google Cloud, presented the conference participants with Google’s portfolio of AI solutions and shared examples of their successful implementation in Ukraine. Among the implemented projects:

  • AI-based financial consultant for one of the leading Ukrainian banks;
    Using Vertex AI together with BigQuery by large manufacturing holdings to automate reporting;
    Optimizing advertising campaigns using Vertex AI for one of the key players in the ecommerce sector.

Ella Kapsonum, SMB Account Manager at Google Cloud, presented successful international cases of generative AI usage. Among the most notable examples:

  • An app for assessing skin cancer risk based on photo analysis;
  • Contextual search for an aggregator of products from various marketplaces, significantly simplifying navigation for users;
  • Spam traffic filtering through intelligent bot recognition, which enhances the effectiveness of online services.

Artificial Intelligence as the Key to Optimizing Business Processes

Vlad Patenko, Customer Engineering Manager at Google Cloud, presented the latest innovations in the field of artificial intelligence and cloud computing. His talk focused on two key areas of AI: Predictive AI and Generative AI.

  • Predictive AI is used to predict future outcomes based on data analysis. This approach allows:
    • Predicting quality control on production lines;
    • Forecasting demand for products;
    • Providing business analytics for decision-making.
  • Generative AI, on the other hand, focuses on creating new content, such as text, images, or music, based on learning from large amounts of data. This type of AI opens up opportunities for innovation, such as:
    • Developing corporate AI chatbots for customer support;
    • Automating creative processes in various industries.

The combination of Predictive AI and Generative AI, which interact and complement each other, enables the full realization of automation potential in business processes. The AI platform in Google Cloud embodies this approach, providing comprehensive automation for complex procedures that can be executed autonomously.

In his presentation, Vlad Patenko delved into the capabilities of integrated and multimodal AI, specifically the processes of training and fine-tuning custom models that allow solutions to be adapted to the unique needs of businesses.

Special attention was given to the infrastructure that supports computational processes in Google Cloud. Vlad presented the latest server and networking solutions that are now available to users. Among them are:

  • TPU v5p, which increases computational power by up to 4 times;
  • A3 Mega VMs, which double throughput.

These innovations provide companies with powerful tools to accelerate processes and tackle the most complex challenges.

Successful Cloud Migration Cases: Experiences of Leading Ukrainian Companies

The presentations from IT leaders of industry-leading Ukrainian companies became a valuable source of information for conference participants. Among the speakers were:

  • Oleg Polihenko, CISO at Nova Digital;
  • Yevhen Moyseenko, Director of the Department of Information Systems Management and Development at Sense Bank;
  • Valentyn Nadtochiy, Director of the IT Department at NTSU.

Each of them shared their unique experiences of cloud migration within their organizations, revealing important technical aspects and key challenges they faced. The talks were rich with practical insights that will be helpful for companies planning or already implementing a transition to cloud solutions.

Google Cloud Ecosystem and Integration with Third-Party Solutions

The issue of integrating third-party solutions into Google Cloud’s cloud infrastructure was thoroughly explored during a session moderated by Dmitro Udovyk, CTO of Wise IT. Leading experts from VMware and NetApp shared their experiences and technical solutions.

Oleksandr Kupchynetskyi, Lead Solution Engineer at VMware by Broadcom, presented the modern capabilities of migrating VMware virtualized environments to Google Cloud. His talk focused on tools that ensure operational continuity and adapt the infrastructure to the cloud environment.

Anton Kyrylenko, Technical Specialist at NetApp, discussed the integration of on-premises storage into the Google Cloud ecosystem. He also explained how to handle situations where compliance requirements necessitate bringing data back to on-premises environments.

Panel Discussion: “Generative AI — Hype or Reality?”

The year 2024 marked a period of active implementation of AI solutions into the workflows of millions of organizations, with interest in the technology reaching an all-time high. Does generative AI really bring tangible benefits to businesses? What are the drawbacks and potential risks? Is generative AI just hype, or does it truly function as an effective tool?

These questions were discussed by IT leaders from leading Ukrainian companies:

  • Oleh Polihenko, CISO of Nova Digital;
  • Margarita Ochyhava, CEO of Tranzzo;
  • Olha Semchuk, CEO of Fishka;
  • Valentyn Nadtochiy, Director of IT Department at NSTU.

The panel discussion was moderated by Oleksandr Kozub, Head of Cloud Solutions at Wise IT, with the conversation being sparked by Vlad Patenko, Custom Engineering Manager at Google Cloud. This discussion served as a crucial step in understanding the real potential of generative AI and its role in business.

Demo Zones at the Event: Technologies in Action

The best way to assess cutting-edge technologies is to experience them firsthand. That’s why the Wise IT team set up several demo zones where participants could try out:

  • Google’s Generative AI;
  • Google Cloud Console capabilities;
  • Corporate ecosystem of Chrome OS;
  • Google Workspace AI.

This year, the Wise IT team was joined by colleagues from Tranzzo and Fishka. Representatives from these companies, who have built their infrastructure on Google Cloud, presented their own technological and business solutions, sharing their experiences of implementing innovative solutions in their operations.
